    ...and guess what?....Bird will be there as part of the Winterland Markets, curated by Finders Keepers. You’ll find handmade art and craft pieces, winter fashion, and traditional seasonal food to munch on while you skate the ice rink and kick back to live music. So come on down, on the 22, 23 and 24 July.

    Experience all the magic of a glittering European winter in the heart of Sydney’s inner west.  Come to CarriageWorks for the first ever Winterland festival!

    Throughout the festival, the beautiful foyer will transform for a winter festival boasting an dazzling indoor ice rink, live music and hot new bands, a design, arts and craft market, fabulous food stalls serving alpine cuisine, dancing, karaoke and activities for everyone to get involved in.


    Admission to Winterland is free.

    Ice Skating is the centrepiece of Winterland. Entry onto the ice-rink is inexpensive, and you can pre-book your skating session. Evening skating and live music is perfect night out with friends or colleagues, or the perfect date.

    Thursday 22 July, 6 – 10pm
    The jazz and blues of The John Hardaker Direction and Charlotte Jane will be a smooth mix of jazz-funk and soulful grooves....and its Birds birthday so we’ll be rockin at the Bird market stall. :)

    Friday 23 July, 6 – 10pm
    The Loin Brothers, Long John Saliva and Paradise Lost's DJ Silvio. Rumored to have been raised in the backroom of a Sydney leather club, a diet of strobe lighting and throbbing sub bass fuzzy disco guitars and exotic synthesizers make up the Loins' musical arsenal. Releasing on Future Classic, the Loin Brothers have vinyl singles out to date both with heavy international praise and big names remixes from the likes of LA disco fiend Woolfy and London based Mock & Toof.

    Saturday 24 July, 1 – 5pm   
    Crafternoon & Folk Music. It's craft en masse! Bring your own craft projects to work on in the company of friends. There will also be activities for people to learn, like knitting and crocheting, taught by the desperately crafty folks from Knitty Gritty and Loopy, who do clever things like make baskets out of recycled bags. They can teach you how in the free workshops and demonstrations throughout the afternoon, and at Bird we’ll be in our element with a massive selection of Craftpacks and craft projects.
    Folk music from local musicians will be the backdrop to your craft ideas, featuring Portable Junk, Ngaratya, Nadeena Dixon, Melodie Nelson and Ryan Nicolussi.
